Inspiring Concept Interior
Surface Design Show, London – Concept Interior
Concept Interior love textures and finishes so when it comes to finding new suppliers we will be dropping by the Surface design show.
Returning to London’s Business Design Centre between 10-12 February 2015, Surface Design Show is the only event in the UK that focuses solely on interior and exterior surfaces.
Out of this world inspired lighting
Our favourite lighting designer has done it again with the launch of his new out of this world inspired lighting. The Pleat Collection is hand sculpted using layers of strips of acid-free paper in a time intensive process. The paper diffuses the light beautifully making it ideal as a centrepiece in any interior and against soft walnut and copper these lights will look great within any of our contemporary interiors.
Concept Interior peg-it-all-up!
Here at Concept Interior we love this storage solution based on the ever-practical pegboard called Peg-it-all Pegboards. The updated concept takes pegboards out of your garage and into the house giving you a really cool new way to store your smaller items.
Made of heavy-duty birch plywood, they feature large holes and rounded end pegs, along with accessories you can mount, like shelves and mirrors. Peg-it-all comes in the natural birch plywood or in black or white.
The design really reminded us of the Dots hanging pegs as an another alternative storage solution. Concept Interior always love a new unique and innovative way to give simple design storage solutions.
Paris Design Week

Striking materials can set the tone for an entire scheme. Here at our office in London Concept Interior choose sleek and contemporary, rustic and rugged, or an on-trend combination of the two.
We love this kitchen contemporary mix of concrete and corian which has been designed in a Victorian house in south-east London. Turning their existing porky kitchen-diner and cold rear conservatory, into a generous, warm, living space.
Cecil Beaton at Home
There’s a fascinating exhibition in Salisbury Museum curated by Andrew Ginger of luxury bed company Beaudesert. (which runs until 19 September) presents an innovative biographical view of legendary designer, photographer and artist, Sir Cecil Beaton, through his two Wiltshire homes which were simultaneously retreats and venues for his impressive entertaining. Against re-creations of his extravagant interiors, original photographs, artworks and possessions from both houses, Beaton’s private life unfolds – the unique talent for self-promotion, desire for theatricality and his uncertain pursuit of love. An amazing recreation of Beaton’s Circus bed designed by Rex Whistler and he famous “Rabbit Coat” are certainly the show stoppers of the exhibition.
“The Bloomsberry” by Burberry
Here at Concept Interior we are in Love with the New Bloomsbury Totes by Burberry.
Inspired by the Bloomsbury set of artists, the structure tote appears on a collage of materials and textures. The Collection features hand-painted floral artworks, Scottish woven blankets and laser cut cityscapes.
The girls at Concept are off to Burberry London to swoon over these amazing designs and get some inspiration for fabrics on new up and coming projects.
London Design Festival 2014 – London Interior Design
The London Design Festival is an annual event, held to celebrate and promote London as the design capital of the world, and as the gateway to the international creative community. There’s no better place for London Interior design lovers than in September, when a raft of exciting launches, installations and exhibitions takes place across the capitol, from individual makers’ open studios to large-scale design shows.
Plain, Simple, Useful
Here at Concept Interior we have purchased Terence Conran’s Plan, Simple, Useful – the Essence of Conran. With various showrooms in and around London his great advice is perfect for any London Interior designers.
“The Pace of modern lift, with all its jolting distraction, increasingly means that the home must provide a solid, restorative framework for everyday life. First and foremost, that means it must serve the activities that take place within in its walls”.
Plain means materials that speak for themselves, uncluttered form, and an absence that is designed to obscure rather than enhance. Simple implies both ease of operation and a direct connection with the type of elemental pleasures that we go away on holiday to experience – the sun streaming through the windows, for example, the texture of a rug underfoot, or basic peace and quiet. Useful means true practicality, rather than gadgets and appliances whose plethora of functions invents problems to solve. Equally, it is a chair that is the right height and a bed provides the optimum degree of support.
The Queen of Serene
She’s back on our blog again; we really can’t get enough of Rose Uniacke this number one London interior designer, Rose Uniacke is ” The Queen of Serene”. This time she’s has had a superb write up in Style magazine with glorious photos of her family home in Pimlico, London.
Rose Uniacke quotes “I hope my style is Warm. I don’t think it’s minimal, I hope it’s more welcoming than that”. We couldn’t agree more with our fellow Interior designer she has created a great blend using classic pieces without overwhelming the space.
The house has a dramatic staircase made from beautiful Portland stone in the Entrance hall which is based on a Victorian design. It has replaced the mock Tudor stairs that were in the house when bought it in 2007. The painting on the landing is by Californian artist John Baldessari.
Shortlist for Interior Design Today
Concept Interior and other London Interior Designers have been spoilt already this year with the May Design Series, centered in Clerkenwell in London. This collective shortlist from the Interior Design Today magazine has opened our eyes here at Concept Interior as every design showcases elegance and beauty but does not fall short of functionality.
Space Odyssey, is the name created by Jan Lath for the rather unique space themed rug. Inspired from pictures taken from the Hubble telescope, these high definition carpets are more that miraculous. It took Jan Lath and her small group of weavers over 15 years to create and make these rugs. The impressive gas clouds use up to 60 different colours of thread and the Chinese silk and Tibetan highland wools are all handmade to provide the subtle variations needed to produce this universe and its distinct patterns. Artisan Design company’s such as Front, really do give interior designers in London the opportunity to seek out stunning and individual pieces to give their projects an edge.
Concept Interior in Interior Design Today
At Concept Interior we are delighted to announce that a picture of our work is featuring in the September edition of Interior Design Today.
